lost in steps and translation

i have no idea why these thoughts came into my mind.

so guess what, 3.5 yrs ago i was a newbie to the great historic Europe. and now 3.5 yrs down the road i've been to the amazing land thrice. (obviously still waiting to go there on a biz trip but anyway..)

this morning something flashed across my mind: flamenco classes at the beginning of the school term.

so you're probably wondering, why did i sign up for that?
1. it was part of the "you have to try new things" mindset
2. you can embarrass yourself and no one will know
3. it was cheap. 18euros for 6mths' weekly lessons. (they didn't tell us the class size was 40)

and then perhaps to answer your next questions:

1. why flamenco?
A: sounds cool what. just for a basic course, why not just learn a few steps instead of merely oogling at all the great dancers.

2. any other lessons you took?
A: yes. (hold your jaw...) street jazz and something else i can't rem and nv attended i think. the deal was, you could get a full refund within the first three weeks of the lesson, so we took it up for fun.

3. what kinds of lessons were there?
A: sports and arts. i was searching desperately for climbing, but alas! there were none! there were things like floorball, which i figured i could always learn at home. i think the lesson timings clashed as well.

4. what, street jazz?
A: Yes. as i said, things i'd never learn in SG. the class size was like 60 for that, and held in an indoor basketball court. the teacher merely danced and we followed her.

so main point, after answering all these, what did i learn?
um, i think i managed to be introduced to the basic steps. ok fine, i didn't learn anything more than 3 lessons, since it was pretty far away from our hostel, and we had more parties to attend later into the semester. otherwise we were feeling lazy and preferred food to exercise. after all, we were constantly lost in steps and translation.
